



| A Lesson in Civics: High school students learn how laws are made using an animal law as a model. Students learn about how laws are introduced, what part lobbyists play, how the average citizen can help animals through lobbying and how your voting choices help animals. (grades 6-12) ****************************** Zoonotics: This presentation appeals especially to science classes and includes a discussion of zoonotic diseases (diseases which are shared by both animals and humans alike). Included specimens of worms and other creepy things preserved in jars are suitably disgusting enough to appeal to middle schoolers. (Grades 6-8) |
| Careers in animal welfare: This is an interactive program utilizing props from a variety of animal- welfare agencies where students will learn about jobs available in service to animals and how to best prepare for those jobs. (6th-12th) **************************** CPR/First Aid: This is a hands- on exercise that teaches how and when to perform CPR and the Heimlich maneuver on animals. A specially-made CPR dog is incorporated into the program. There is also a discussion of first aid and some of the dangers of household chemicals. (9th – adult) |

| Woody’s Wisdom: Children select items from a colorful suitcase that contains dog & cat care items. A short video is shown. A registered therapy dog accompanies presenter. (Pre-k-2nd) Dogz in the Hood: Dog-bite prevention/animal communication. Through a video-tape, students learn how to interpret a dog or cat’s body language so they may avoid getting bitten. Students also learn how to react if they are in immediate danger of a dog bite. (3rd-6th) |
| Children trained to extend justice, kindness, and mercy to animals become more just, kind and considerate in their relations with others.
